Home / About Us

Since 1985, PryorMorrow has been changing Mississippi’s landscape, growing from a two-man small business to Mississippi’s most trusted name in architecture by working closely with clients to design strong, innovative buildings. PryorMorrow’s architects, engineers and interior designers work tirelessly from conception to completion to see your building constructed to the highest standards.

Roger Pryor

Founding Director / Architect, AIA

Specializing in historic preservation and authentic history reproductions, Roger Pryor has over forty years of academic and practice experience in architecture. A graduate of Georgia Tech and the University of Pennsylvania, Pryor was founder of PryorMorrow and continues to practice architecture in Mississippi. An appreciation of the historic architecture of the Deep South influences Pryor’s design methodology and colors the aesthetic sensibilities of his practice.

Chris Morrow

Founding Director / Architect, AIA

Chris Morrow co-founded PryorMorrow in 1985 alongside Roger Pryor. After 39 years of working professionally as an architect, Morrow retired in July 2022.  During his time with PryorMorrow, he was responsible for the design of major projects with an emphasis on K-12 educational facilities, collegiate projects, and building envelope restorations. Morrow isa licensed architect in Mississippi and Alabama. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and is NCARB certified.

“I would like to design a building that requires zero maintenance over its lifespan. Design, instruction, documentation, execution, and construction should all continue to improve and strive for higher quality. In the end, I hope I have motivated people to do things right the first time, whether this is a drawing line weight or a correct caulking technique.”

Morrow is a past member of the Mississippi State University School of Architecture Advisory Council and the Mississippi State Board of Architecture. A native Mississippian and a graduate of Mississippi State University, Morrow has practiced since 1983.

Michael Taylor

President / Managing Principal Architect, AIA, NCARB

Michael Taylor cares deeply for the communities he serves through his work. He feels a great sense of pride being part of a team that works tirelessly to ensure that the buildings he designs promote community growth and prosperity. At PryorMorrow, Taylor’s primary focus is collegiate sports venues, technically demanding projects, forensic investigation and repair, and difficult building renovations.

“I believe in serving. Whether it is through my work or my personal life.  When you serve your clients’ needs good design will happen.  Service is a part of our company culture and is engrained in our staff.”

Originally from Bryant, Arkansas, Taylor headed a little further south and graduated from Mississippi State University. Outside of work, he is an avid outdoorsman and active in the Columbus Rotary Club and at his church, where he serves as church champion and mentor father in Fathers In The Field Ministry.

Corey Ravenhorst

Managing Principal Engineer, PE

With nearly 20 years’ experience in the design of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, Corey Ravenhorst provides a wealth of knowledge to the PryorMorrow team. He serves as principal engineer and has designed systems for a variety of buildings, including hospitals, jails, schools, research labs, office buildings, and other building types. He is skilled in designing for both new buildings, additions, and renovations.

“Working under the same roof with the architects allows for closer communication between designers, which helps to eliminate issues during construction and provide the owner a building on time and within budget.”

Ravenhorst graduated from Mississippi State University and is a native Mississippian from Bay Springs. He stays active in the Starkville community as a Rotarian. He enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also stays active by hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.

Jose Guadalupe Arellano

Managing Principal Architect, AIA, NCARB

Arellano finds fulfillment in creating an architectural design that is functional and appealing to his current clients but also produces a sense of pride in the next generation of its inhabitants.

“We get creative and develop some great designs that not only meet our clients’ program, budget and quality standards but also their vision.”

A graduate of Mississippi State University, Arellano focuses on industrial development design projects and academic work. His portfolio includes K-12 and community college work in addition to impressive industry and community revitalization master planning. Arellano’s passion for architecture along with Mississippi’s growth and development is apparent to all who know him.

As a native of the Golden Triangle, he makes time to be involved in the community through various roles including West Point Rotary Club member and West Point Clay County Arts Council board member. Arellano also enjoys traveling to Mexico to visit his family home.

William V. Dexter, Jr.

Managing Principal Architect, AIA, NCARB

William Dexter serves as a principal architect at PryorMorrow. With over 20 years of architectural design experience, his portfolio includes an array of projects including K-12 educational facilities, master planning renovation and new construction of ecclesiastical developments. Additionally, Dexter has extensive knowledge in civic projects and local bond issue preparations.

Dexter is a 1996 graduate of Mississippi State University. He enjoys being an active member in the Tupelo community and has a passion for arts and entertainment. He serves on the LINK Centre Board of Directors and the Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association’s Design Committee.

“The usability of designed structures must not be sacrificed by an overriding architectural gesture. Architecture ultimately belongs to the people that will inhabit it. Practicality tempers design.”

Team Testimonials

Our Services

Architecture

In our experience in the construction industry, we have found that the most successful projects occur when clients, architects, and contractors work together as a team. Our role is to listen to the client, to come to an understanding of the client’s needs, and to use our knowledge and our design talents to address those needs. A successful architect-client relationship begins with the right people. The staff of PryorMorrow offers more than 200 years of combined experience in the fields of architecture, engineering, interior design, and construction. The diversity of the staff allows us to create the right project team for every job. We are large enough to complete your job competently, but we are small enough to offer the level of personal attention your project deserves.

Engineering

Our in-house engineering staff is an essential component of our practice. We provide in-house mechanical and electrical engineering, which is one of the elements that allows our firm to complete projects on time by streamlining technical discussions during design. When a project requires specialized consultants, we have working relationships with several from which to choose, based on the needs of the design. Our in-house staff helps us integrate engineering as a vital component of technically advanced design.

Interior Design

PryorMorrow offers a full range of interior design services. Our interior designer is available to work hand-in-hand with our clients to take a project from an idea to reality. Our interior design team has worked with clients on a full range of interior design projects, from basic finish selection to complete interior design concepts and furniture procurement. Our interior design projects include the award-winning G.W. Henderson Health and Wellness Pavilion in Tunica, the award-winning Center for Manufacturing Technology Excellence at EMCC, The Orchard United Methodist Church in Tupelo, the Oxford Heart Clinic, and the Gilmore Medical Arts Building.

Construction Administration

At PryorMorrow, we understand that the job is not finished when the design is complete – the job is finished when the owner takes possession of a quality building. Thus, our final product is not a set of blueprints, but rather a building – and this is why construction administration is a vital part of our service. PryorMorrow employs three full-time construction administrators and one construction administration assistant. These men and women bring over eighty years of experience from the construction industry to the project.

Forensic Study/Master Planning

PryorMorrow is dedicated to the rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of existing structures. After years of heavy use, windows and crumbling brick facade required repair, and the building’s exterior becomes in need of a facelift. Many of our building plans are created for multiphase renovations and additions. This long-term approach allows clients to prioritize renovations and plans for the future. PryorMorrow works with the client to prepare a building plan that fits within the budget restraints and also serves the needs of the client.

Energy Audits

PryorMorrow has partnered with TVA and Atmos Energy to bring savings directly to the customer. Ashley Weekly, PE, BEAP, brings over ten years’ experience in the efficient design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to you. Our in-house engineering team understands that maintenance and energy efficiency are vital to the life cycle cost of the project and far exceed the initial construction cost. PryorMorrow is committed to improving the quality of construction projects as well as the environment in which they are situated.
