When PryorMorrow was tasked with expanding the Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, the primary challenge was designing the expansion in a way that allowed the existing hospital to maintain its clinical function during construction and renovation.
Increasing Capacity
During Phase IV construction, the hospital constructed, expanded, and renovated departments including radiology, lab, respiratory therapy, emergency room, surgery, central sterile supply, and outpatient surgery — with the outpatient surgery expansion taking the department from 1,239 square feet to 14,801 square feet.

Expanding Capabilities
Other new and expanded services include a new central plant, a materials management facility, financial services and a new staff parking deck.
