Mississippi University for Women recommissioned the Demonstration School to support the growth of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. It is now home to the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and the Speech and Hearing Center.
The building was renamed Turner Hall in honor of Dr. Alma W. Turner (Ed.S. ’81), who served as Principal of the Demonstration School for ten years and instructor for 18 years. This $8.2 million expansion and complete renovation/historic preservation added speech therapy and audiology laboratory space, as well as a 175-seat lecture hall.
