The Wise Center is home to the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. As the College’s main campus and home to its physical plant, this 403,000 square-foot facility encompasses more than 10 acres located on the southwest side of the MSU campus. The Wise Center is comprised of an educational/instruction wing, research wing, and the College’s main teaching hospital, the Animal Health Center, where our third- and fourth-year students gain the bulk of their clinical experience.
PryorMorrow was commissioned by The Bureau of Building, Grounds, and Real Property Management to construct an addition to the Wise Center that included two 120-seat lecture halls, two smaller classrooms, faculty offices, restrooms, and other supporting spaces. The classrooms are equipped with the latest in audio-visual teaching technologies. The classroom addition was needed because of the lack of sufficiently large classrooms and long-distance-learning equipped classrooms in the Wise Center. Both the College of Veterinary Medicine and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences have large undergraduate classes that are projected to outgrow their current classrooms within two years. The additional offices are needed to meet the current shortage of office space for faculty and staff in the Wise Center, particularly for the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences.
