Adam Pugh Joins PryorMorrow’s Educational Relations Department

PryorMorrow is honored to welcome Adam Pugh, Ph.D., to our team as a member of our Educational Relations Department. In this role, Adam will utilize his vast personal experience and knowledge to mentor superintendents in the K-12 sector by assisting them with a better understanding of bond issues and funding possibilities.

Adam was born in Bay Springs, MS. He attended Jones County Junior College and transferred to Mississippi State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies Education in 1989. Adam earned his Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi State University in 1995. In 2009, he earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Mississippi. Adam has been married to his wife Kim, a teacher at Lafayette High School, for 25 years. He has three children: Zach 22, Andrew 19, and Claire Anne, 16.

Adam began his career as Superintendent of the Pontotoc City School District in July 2009. While at Pontotoc, he guided the district to a High Performing rating for two consecutive years. One school improved to a Star rated school while he served as superintendent. While there, Adam implemented collaborative learning teams, which helped improve the district’s test scores. He saw a rise in the scores both years at Pontotoc. Adam returned to the Lafayette County School District in 2011. Adam brought many of the same ideas from Pontotoc to Lafayette when he returned. Under his leadership, Lafayette County Schools’ test scores drastically increased. Lafayette Middle School moved from a “D” rating to a “B” rating in one year. Lafayette High School moved from a “B” rating to an “A” rating for two consecutive years. Under his leadership, the Lafayette County School District earned its first-ever “A” rating.

The Mississippi Association of Students Councils selected Adam as Administrator of the Year for 2013. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Association of School Administrators and is currently serving as President of that organization. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Association of School Superintendents. Adam serves on the Oxford/Lafayette County Economic Development Foundation and the Northeast Superintendents MASS organization and is the Chairman of the Northwest Community College Board of Trustees. He also serves in the North Oxford Baptist Church Deacon Body and is the Sunday School teacher for 9th and 10th-grade boys at North Oxford. Adam views his most important job as that of husband and father to his family.

Welcome to the PryorMorrow team, Adam!
