Mississippi Valley State University’s residence hall, College Hall, was abandoned in 2005 after a fire occurred on the first floor and quickly spread. PryorMorrow was hired in 2007 to install a new roof on the residence hall for it to match the adjacent residence hall, Magnolia Hall, which had a pitched roof. The renovation of College Hall started in 2014 and was broken into two phases. Phase 1 consisted of a complete demo. The only thing remaining was the concrete structure and the roof. Phase 2 consisted of rebuilding the residence hall, which has 167 total number of beds. In addition to student rooms, the facility has a study hall, computer lab, reception area/lobby, and a lounge.
