This newly constructed elementary school addition houses 22 smart classrooms and can accommodate 400 students. This school also features administrative offices, a teacher’s lounge, a computer lab, and a playground.

Interior murals at the focal points of corridors include a historic photograph from the Museum of the American Indian (SMITHSONIAN) and contemporary Choctaw photographs of Choctaw children.

The outdoor canopy framing Pearl River Elementary School’s recent expansion is reminiscent, and representational, of a stick-ball mallet. Stick-ball is a uniquely Choctaw sport.
The round medallions over each classroom window at Pearl River Elementary School are inspired by Choctaw beadwork. The round view windows of each classroom door mirror the exterior medallions.
