A Mississippi Landmark, Poindexter Hall is home to an oval performance space with elevated seating, faculty offices, classrooms and practice rooms located on the Mississippi University for Women campus. The wood-framed building was built in 1904 with an unusual, multi-story floor plan. PryorMorrow jumped at the opportunity to restore such a unique piece of Mississippi history. Our in-house electrical engineering staff incorporated energy efficient lighting upgrades for this project.
Updating History
Renovations included structural stabilization, two new elevators, roof replacement, window restoration, a new basement, new mechanical heating, and cooling systems, new electrical (including an audio/video system), and subsurface drainage and sprinkler systems.

State of the Art Partnerships
PryorMorrow worked with acoustical consultants, mortar analysts, masonry consultants, and fire protection consultants while working with state agencies to preserve the building’s historic significance.
