Richland Upper Elementary recently underwent a makeover with the addition of six new classrooms and restroom facilities, and enclosed pedestrian walkway, and a special needs playground. Renovations were also made throughout the school and included electrical upgrades, new intercom, and fire alarm system, new security cameras for doors and halls, new secure entrance for administration office, heating/cooling system upgrade, re-roofing, restroom renovations, new ceilings and LED lighting, site drainage improvements, and a cafeteria serving line expansion. The improvements were part of the School Bond Issue Project for Rankin County School District.
