This multi-phased project for Mississippi State University was a full interior and exterior renovation of the Marks-Rothenberg Building, which was once home to a thriving department store and was an integral part of Meridian’s historic commercial district. The building, which had been unoccupied since 1987, was converted into a conference center. This project was the first construction management project by the State of Mississippi.
Collaborate for Success
The Marks-Rothenberg renovation, when combined with the neighboring Grand Opera House, forms the Riley Center for Performing Arts. Working closely with opera house architects, Martinez & Johnson, the team designed a cohesive performing arts hub and architectural cornerstone of downtown Meridian.
