PryorMorrow is proud to announce Kharma A. Leonard, AIA, has been named the newest principal in the firm. Leonard is a native of West Point, MS, and a graduate of West Point High School. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Mississippi State University in 1998. During school, Kharma worked as a student intern for two consecutive years for RTKL Associates in Dallas, Texas, before joining them as a full-time employee after graduation.
She later transitioned to HKS Architects, also in Dallas, Texas, where she obtained her license to practice in the state of Texas in 2005. During her tenure at both firms, Kharma gained extensive experience working on large-scale projects across various building sectors, including hospitality, multi-family housing, retail, and healthcare.
In 2011, Leonard acquired a reciprocal license to practice in MS and became affiliated with ArchitectureSouth in Tupelo, MS. There she served as Project Architect, alongside Principal Terri Williams, for several residence hall projects throughout the state, including at Alcorn State University, Southwest Mississippi Community College, and Coahoma Community College.
Since joining PryorMorrow in 2019, Leonard has served as Project Architect on several notable projects alongside Michael Taylor, Principal Architect, including Kappa Alpha Sorority House at the University of Mississippi, Magnolia Hall at Itawamba Community College, Itawamba Community College Commercial Truck Driving School, and West Point City Hall renovation which is currently in the construction phase.
